Thank you very much to Year 1 for their entertaining assembly on ‘There’s a sunflower in my supper!’. Wonderfully loud voices so that every word could be understood, excellent singing and such enthusiasm – Well done!
The next class assembly will be Reception and will take place on Friday 22nd June at 9:10am. As always, parents and friends are invited to attend.
Celebration Day – 15th June 2018
We will be holding a full day of celebration on Friday 15th June 2018 and we hope that as many parents as possible will join us. The programme will be:-
- Sports Day at 9.00am
To be held at Cricklefields Athletic Ground, High Road, Ilford, Essex, IG1 1UE
We are hoping to commence the races at 9.00am and it would be very helpful if parents could take their children directly to the grounds by 8.50am and join us for this event. More information will follow.
- Street Party Lunch
Weather permitting the children will come back to school following the end of sports day and have a street party style lunch set up in the playground.
- Summer Fair – 3.30pm – 6.30pm
There will be no afterschool club on this day to enable everyone to attend the annual summer fair. We will begin setting up for the fair once the lunch has finished. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Plans are underway and tickets will be on sale following the half term break. Any sponsorship from your companies or donations for the raffle or stalls would be greatly appreciated. Your class parents will be contacting you within the next few weeks to organise support.
We are planning on running another parent v pupil match of rounders to close the evening. If you are interested in volunteering or playing in the match, please send an email to email@example.com.
Nursery Farm Trip
What a day our Nursery children had at the farm! There were so many animals for them to interact with by petting the animals. It was an informative day as they were told about each animals’ habitat and diet. As a special treat they were allowed to visit the play area, which was a fantastic end to their day.
On Monday the 25th, we had our PSHE Day where we focussed on our British values and what these are. We began with a whole school assembly and then went back to class to discuss the role of a mayor so that we could ask the mayor questions that relate to her job. We then went to the Redbridge Town Hall. We had a very informative session and are grateful for the opportunity to have met the mayor. Our thanks to her and to Nathan’s mum (Year 1) and Vihaan’s mum (Year 2) who accompanied us to the Town Hall. In the afternoon, Year 3 looked at DEMOCRACY as one of the values, while Year 4 looked at TOLERANCE, Year 5: MUTUAL RESPECT and Year 6: RULE OF LAW. Year 1 and 2 focussed on DEMOCRACY and how we vote for our government and for our town councillors. They already know that they also are part of the democratic process as they have voted for their class school councillors! Thank you to staff and pupils for making this day a success.
Ezaan from Year 2 has written about what he learnt during the day:
Sun hats and water bottles
As the weather improves I would like to remind you of the importance of wearing a sun hat during play time and lunch time and bringing a water bottle to school every day. The sun hat should be the school regulation hat and can be bought from the school office for £4.00. Water bottles, which can be refilled through the day, should be clearly marked with the child’s name.
LAMDA Exam Results
We are pleased to announce fantastic results from the LAMDA exams. Our pupils received 19 Distinctions and 25 Merits! Gary and Cheryl have expressed their delight in these achievements and are proud and impressed at the quality, talent and work ethic of the pupils at our school. Well done to all and a big thank you to Gary and Cheryl for their hard work!
Holiday Club will run from Tuesday 29th May – Friday 1st June. Please ensure that you contact the Holiday Club staff on 07908 175062 if you have a change in circumstance or your child is unwell and unable to attend.
A reminder that children will return to school on Tuesday 5th June, as Monday 6th June is a staff INSET day.
Signing Out After School Club
Please remember to sign your children out when collecting them from the after school club. It is very important to write the time that you have collected your child so that the after school club staff are able to keep an accurate record of pupils present. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Unfortunately there were no classes with 100% attendance or punctuality this week. Congratulations to Year 5 for the lowest number for absences and to Year 2 for the lowest number of lates. I hope that next week there are more classes with 100% punctuality and attendance.
Please can you inform the office if you have any change in your contact details (email address, phone, address, etc.).
