Welcome back to Trinity Term
It was so lovely this week to see all of the children back to school, refreshed and ready to learn. I hope that you all had a restful break and a blessed Easter. Welcome back!
The next class assembly will be Year 2 and will take place on Friday 4th May at 9:10am. As always, parents and friends are invited to attend.
Thank you to all who participated in the Easter hat parade. What a fantastic display of creativity! There were so many different designs and it was evident that many of you spent a great deal of time on your hats. Well done, everyone!
Easter Egg Raffle
Congratulations to all of the winners from the raffle! Our school raised £154.00 from the Easter egg raffle ticket sales. This money has been raised for our PTFA. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets!
Early Years held a lovely Easter service during which they decorated a cross with flowers to celebrate Jesus and new life. KS1 and KS2 performed the Stations of the Cross, decorated a cross and sang lovely songs to explore and celebrate the story of Easter. Thank you to all of the parents who came to celebrate with us.
Year 1 trip to Kensington Palace
On Tuesday 17th April Year 1 went on a school trip to Kensington Palace to further their understanding of what they learnt last term about Queen Victoria. The children had a fantastic time exploring the palace and looking in the different rooms where different members of the royal family lived.
Cancer Research presentations
During Merit Assembly a representative from Cancer research came to receive the cheques from the Year 6s for the money raised during Enterprise week. It was explained that the money raised would buy equipment to allow the scientists to continue their research into finding a way to cure cancer.
Letters for the extracurricular clubs have already gone out. If you still require one paper copies can be found in the office. Please make sure that these are completed and returned by the end of today so that your child can attend the clubs. Remember that some clubs may be first come, first served. All clubs will commence next week and full lists will be on the board at the side of St Angela building.
Ice Lolly Friday
This will start next Friday (27th April). If you have not yet brought back your form and money please do so before the end of today. It is £5 for the term.
The children should now be in the summer uniform. For girls this is the summer dress, white socks, blue cardigan, blazer and boater straw hat. For boys this is the same as winter uniform but charcoal shorts and short sleeved shirts may be worn. Hair should be tied back in school coloured hairbands and this ruling applies to both girls and boys. A reminder that all new school uniform purchases should be made from Stevensons. We do not stock any items of new uniform. However, from when we did sell items, we do still have some sunhats left and some PE bags. We also have three summer dresses (one size only) left purchased from Henry Taylor when they closed. They are brand new, size 34” chest, 34” length and cost £10.
We are holding our Summer Concert on Tuesday 8th May in the Academy Hall. It will be showcasing the talents within our school from Choir, Young Voices, Ballet, Irish dancing, Street dancing, Bollywood, Speech and drama and instrumentalists. If your child takes part in one of these activities, they will be preparing for the concert already. All parents and children can attend. We will be selling tickets from next week at a cost of £2.50 for an adult and £1 for a child (those who are performing will not need a ticket).
Signing Out After School Club
Please remember to sign your children out when collecting them from the after school club. It is very important to write the time that you have collected your child so that the after school club staff are able to keep an accurate record of pupils present. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Can I please remind everyone that the parking bays in the front of the school are for staff only and must not be used in the morning for dropping off. This is currently causing staff lateness which impacts on your own children.
Congratulations to Year 5, Year 2 and Reception who had no lates this week. Congratulation to Year 4, Year 3 and Year 1 who had no absences this week. Hopefully next week we will have even more classes with no absences and no lates.
Please can you inform the office if you have any change in your contact details (email address, phone, address, etc.).
