Thank you to Year 5 for their excellent assembly on crime and punishment throughout history including some excellent acting and singing. Thank you to all of the parents who came to join us.
The next class assembly will be Year 4 and will take place on Friday 15th March at 9:10am in the hall. Year 4 parents and friends are invited to attend.
Next Wednesday 6th March marks Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent and our time in preparation for Easter. We will be marking this occasion with a service at 1.30pm with all classes taking part. Parents and friends are all welcome to attend. Father Rob will be distributing the ashes to children in KS2.
World Book Day
Next Thursday 7th March is World Book Day. Pupils need to come to school dressed as a book character. The Scholastic Book Fair will also be in school from 7th March to link in with World Book Day. Parents have the opportunity to use this link: https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/ to purchase a voucher for their child to use at the Book Fair. This means they get an extra 20%. So a £12 voucher costs £10 and a £6 voucher costs £5. Their child can just present this to an adult at the Book Fair to take advantage of the extra 20% which is applicable on any item – not just books. They will not get any change – they must use the voucher!
Safer Internet Day
On Wednesday 27th February we held our annual Safer Internet Day. The pupils found out ways to ensure that they stay safe online and completed a number of different activities. As part of the preparation for the day the children completed a survey about their use of technology and the results of this were shared with the pupils in assembly and with parents at a meeting. If you wish to see the results or would like further details about how we can all keep the children safe, the presentation can be found on the parent portal or can be emailed directly to you if you wish.
Year 6 secondary transfer
Huge congratulations to all of our Year 6 who have taken part in independent examinations this term. The children have performed extremely well with some pupils even being recognised for exceptional performance by the headteachers. Good luck to those finding out their state school place today!
Cookery Consent Form
As part of the curriculum the children will be doing food technology. If you have not already done so, please complete the consent form attached to the newsletter detailing whether they have any allergies to the ingredients listed.
Bee an Artist
This term our rainbow on the stairs is to be transformed with pupils’ artwork. Any child can produce a piece of artwork for display using any medium they like. It must be no larger than A4. Once completed hand to their teacher and it will be displayed along the stairs.
Congratulations to Year 4 who had no absences this week. Congratulations to Year 1, 3, 4 and 5 who had no lates. Hopefully next week we have even more classes with no absences and no lates.
