Welcome back to the final half term of this academic school year. I trust that you all had a restful and relaxing break. This half term is filled with many exciting events and activities and I hope that all pupils will put forth their best efforts to finish off this year in a positive way!
The next class assembly will be Reception and will take place on Friday 21st June at 9:10am. As always, parents and friends are invited to attend.
Brentwood Citizenship Award
Congratulations to Cassidy in Year 6 for being awarded the Brentwood Diocese Citizenship Award. The award was presented to her by Bishop Alan at the Brentwood Cathedral along with pupils from other diocesan schools.
Sports Day at 9.00am
To be held at Cricklefields Athletic Ground, High Road, Ilford, Essex, IG1 1UE
We intend to commence the races at 9.00am and it would be very helpful if parents could take their children directly to the grounds by 8.50am and join us for this event. All permission slips should now have been returned. As we have been unable to secure a coach the children who are dropped to school will be walking to and from the Ground. All children need to be in school for 8.00 am. Children whose parents are at the sports day will be allowed to take their children home once the races are completed.
Summer Fair – 3.30pm – 6.00pm
The Summer Fair will be held on Friday 28th June. There will be no afterschool club on this day to enable everyone to attend the annual summer fair.
Plans are underway and tickets will go on sale next week. Any sponsorship from your companies, donations for the raffle or prizes for the stalls would be greatly appreciated. Your class parents will be contacting you within the next few weeks to organise support.
A reminder to send in full unopened bottles with your child, from ketchup to champagne, for the bottle stall. The children can earn extra dojo’s when bringing these in to the main school office.
End of Year Assessments
Next week pupils in Years 1, 3, 4 & 5 will be taking their end of year assessments. These test all that they have learnt since September in Reading, Grammar and Spelling, Maths and Science. Pupils do not need to do any extra revision for the tests and they will be conducted in classes during the morning sessions. The results of the assessments will be sent out to you with their full report in July.
During the afternoons next week pupils will be celebrating PEP week, our Pupil Enrichment Programme. Pupils will come off timetable during the afternoons and spend time in their house groups. This year’s theme is ‘The Crystal Maze’.
Year 6 Kingswood trip and meeting
The Year 6 pupils will spend the week commencing 17th June at the Kingswood Overstrand camp in Norfolk. A meeting will be held at 3.45pm in Y6 on Wednesday 6th June for all parents whose child is attending.
Sun hats and water bottles
As the weather improves I would like to remind you of the importance of wearing a sun hat during play time and lunch time and bringing a water bottle to school every day. The sun hat should be the school regulation hat and can be bought from the school office for £. Water bottles, which can be refilled through the day, should be clearly marked with the child’s name.
Signing in for Breakfast Club and Out in After School Club
Please remember to sign your children in for breakfast club and out when collecting them from the after school club. It is very important to write the time that you have left and collected your child so that the club staff are able to keep an accurate record of pupils present. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Please can you inform the office if you have any change in your contact details (email address, phone, address, etc.).
