Uniform Pop-up Shop
The next pop-up shop will take place on Wednesday 19th July.
End of Year Assessments Year 1-5
Over the next two weeks children in Year 1, 3, 4 & 5 will be sitting end of year assessments. These tests will be marked internally and the information from the assessments will be used to track pupils’ progress. There is no need to revise for these tests as they are meant to be a true reflection of the pupils’ abilities. Please do make sure that your child is well rested and eats a healthy breakfast in the morning before the assessments.
The next and last class assembly of the year will be Reception and will take place on Friday 16th June at 9:10am. As always, parents and friends are invited to attend.
Please return your tube to Mrs McNaughton this week no matter how full it is! The class returning the highest percentage of tubes will have a picnic in Valentines Park – it would be wonderful if this was able to be a whole school picnic.
Currently in the lead are Nursery!
The money raised will go to the PTFA to boost the profits from the summer fair. Our aim this year is to raise funds for computer tablets for the class rooms. This is a large project but with your help and everyone getting involved I am sure that we can succeed.
Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers
The school is still collecting these vouchers. Please put them in the box outside the main school office.
The last Book Fair of this Academic year arrives today, Thursday 15th June and will run until Wednesday 21st June. It will be run in the Dining Hall after school until 4.30. Please do come along to see the wide variety of books on offer.
Late Pick Up
It has come to our attention that parents are arriving after 6.30pm to collect their children. As stated in our “Policy for Children Not Collected” the school has to pay overtime to the members of staff supervising your children. I very much regret that it has become necessary to implement the charge policy.
Parents who are late collecting a child will be charged £10.00 for the first 15 minutes (collections from 6.31pm up to 6.45pm) with a further £1 charge for every minute after the first 15 minutes.
We also operate a ‘three-strikes’ and you are out’ policy, whereby repeat offenders will be disallowed from using the after school facility, although this will be exercised with discretion in the case of parents who have bona fide reasons. Late collection places enormous strain on our resources and this acts very much against the interests of the whole school. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.
Many children are not in full school uniform and I would ask parents to ensure that the list is read and adhered to. Summer dresses should be worn with white socks, with no leggings or long sleeved tops underneath. Thank you for your co-operation.
Plans are underway for the 2017 summer fair! We are looking for any volunteers to help both before and during the event. The date of the summer fair is Friday 30th June from 3.30-7pm. Any sponsorship from your companies or donations for the raffle would be gratefully appreciated. This week is confectionary week when we ask for donations of sweets, chocolate bars and anything else that you feel would go down well.
If you have any ideas or donations, please send an email to email@example.com.
After School Club
Please remember to sign your child out when you collect them from after school club. When collecting your children from the hall, please be mindful of the after school clubs and sports practices that are taking place and walk around the perimeter of the playground.
Sports Day 2017
Our annual Sports Day for children in Reception to Year 6 will take place at Cricklefields Athletics track, on Friday 23rd June. Parents are welcome to join us for this event and permission slips are being sent out. Please send these back to the office asap. Further details will be sent out once Mr Tuitt has returned from PGL. We look forward to seeing you there!
Congratulations to Year 1 and Year 4 for no absences last week. Unfortunately there were no classes with 100% punctuality this week. I hope that next week there are more classes with excellent punctuality and attendance.
Please can you inform the office if you have any change in your contact details (email address, phone, address, etc.).
