Thank you to Year 5 for their informative and entertaining assembly. It was very interesting and shows how much you have learnt in the last five weeks. Our next class assembly will be Year 6 who will hold their class assembly on Friday 10th November at 9:10am.
Half Term Holiday Club
A reminder that next week is half term. I hope that the children enjoy the week and come back fully charged for the next extremely busy half term leading up to Christmas.
St Ursula Day Mass
This Friday at 10.30am we will be celebrating the feast day of St Ursula with a Mass. All parents are very warmly invited to attend to celebrate with us.
This year we are continuing to introduce the role of class parent to help improve communication between home and school and also to increase parent involvement. Class parents are the coordinators of support for your child’s class. They help organise support for teachers and class room activities as needed and facilitate a sense of community among the children’s families. They strengthen communication between the school and the families.
Below is a list of class parents to date:-
|Reception class||Charlotte Patel (Logan)
Soniyah Khan (Elizah)
|Year 1||Sagufa Kasour (Idrees)
Bola Boboye (Nathan)
|Year 2||Amanda Simpson (Larelle)
Shamila Shaikh (Ezaan)
|Year 3||Volunteers still needed?|
|Year 4||Pretty Patel (Anjali)||PrettyPatel2003@yahoo.com|
|Year 5||Ruby Nayyar (Anisha)||email@example.com|
|Year 6||Pretty Patel (Arjun)||PrettyPatel2003@yahoo.com|
Our Science Day was a huge success. All classes participated in a range of different activities. Early Years and KS1 welcomed parents to help them take part in construction and experiments. Please see the attached newsletter for more details about what the classes took part in. A big thank you to Mrs Sheely for organising such a fun day.
School Website Parent area
I am very pleased to announce that a new parent area on our website has been created. In this section you have contact details for each class teacher, a copy of the timetable and access to what is being covered by each class during the week along with any homework given. I hope that this will assist parents by having a quick and easy way to find out what your child is doing without having to contact the school directly. As this area is new I do ask you to have patience with it whilst we iron out any difficulties. If you have any problems please contact the school directly on firstname.lastname@example.org
To log in you need to go to www.urspsi.org.uk/parents
You then need to enter the password (which you have received via Clarioncall) to access the class pages.
Also available on these pages is the song words and vocal tracks for Young Voices as we practise them each week. I hope this will enable pupils to learn the words more quickly and practise at home.
Prize Day Trophies
We are still waiting for the cup for Y4 to be returned. A reminder to please have your child’s name engraved and return the cup to the school office as soon as possible. These will then be displayed in our trophy cabinet outside the main office. Thank you to those who have already returned them.
Please make sure that your children’s belongings are clearly labelled. There are a number of items already in lost property. The Year 6 pupils will be displaying lost property for collection each Friday morning before school. Please be advised that if there is no name and it has not been claimed, uniform items will be sent to the used uniform shop and non-uniform items will be given to the local charity shop.
On the 31st October – 7th November we will be having our first book fair for this academic year. This is a great opportunity for you to buy new reading material for your children (and maybe to buy some early Christmas presents!). It will be located in the dining hall at after school club from 3.30pm – 4.30pm on the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and following Monday.
The PTFA Annual General Meeting took place on October 11th. The PTFA for the 2017-2018 year was appointed and plans are underway to plan the first PTFA event, the Christmas Fair. The Fair will be held on December 7th after school.
If you have ideas about the Christmas Fair or would like to assist in planning or helping at the event, we want to hear from you. If you are able, please attend the next PTFA meeting which will be held on November 2nd at 5pm. If you are not able to attend, please email the PTFA Events Coordinator, Soniyah Khan (email@example.com).
The aim of the Christmas Fair is to celebrate and enjoy with the entire Ursuline family of staff, parents and students. It is also an opportunity for us to raise funds for the school and our children. We are hoping all parents will help by reaching out to people they know to find donations of any kind (eg. food, gifts) and/or sourcing businesses that may want to advertise or donate something for the Fair.
The minutes of the last PTFA and the Treasurer’s report are available on the URSPI website by following the link:-
After school club will continue to take place in the Academy dining room for all children. The Early Years and Prep after school clubs will be joining together in the prep hall at 5:30pm. Please ensure that your children are collected by 6:30pm.
Congratulations to Year 3 who had no lates. Well done to Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 for no absences. Hopefully this week we have even more classes with no absences and no lates.
Please can you inform the office if you have any new contact details (email address, phone, address, etc).
