A big thank you to Year 4 for a very informative and funny assembly on the Ancient Egyptians last Friday. Thank you also to the parents who came to support us.
Our next class assembly will be after Christmas when Year 3 who will hold their class assembly on Friday 5th January at 9:10am. All parents are invited to attend.
The Times Top 100 Prep Schools
Yesterday the Times on Sunday published its annual list of the top 100 Independent Prep schools. This is based on the attainment data provided by the schools. This year we have reached 19th position up from 38th position last year. A very well done to all connected to the school on this fabulous achievement.
Serviam Star of the Month
A big congratulations to Harjeet in Year 4 and Ahalya in Year 2 who are our Serviam stars for October. They have demonstrated our motto of ‘Serviam’ in all that they do – Well done!
On Friday we celebrated Friendship Friday. Pupils and staff came dressed in yellow and cakes, biscuits, toys and friendship bracelets were sold at break time and lunch time by the School Council and Prefects. The day was a huge success and we raised £300. This money raised will go to Theodora children’s charity based in North London who will use the money to fund their ‘Giggle Doctors’ who visit sick children in hospital. Thank you to all of you who donated so generously to this worthy cause.
Energy Saving Month
Energy Saving Month is well underway! The Eco-committee are working hard to ensure that staff and pupils know ways that they can help us to save energy such as turning off lights and taps, ensuring computer screens are put on standby and closing any doors and windows. If we are able to save energy during this month there will be a special dress up day next term!
Under 9s Football match v Loyola
On Wednesday 15th November fifteen boys took part in a football match against Loyola Prep School in Buckhurst Hill. A very difficult opponent, Loyola were unbeaten this year. Our boys performed exceptionally beating Loyola in two games out of three. A big thank you to Mr Agyemang for organising the match.
Class parents are the coordinators of support for your child’s class. They help organise support for teachers and class room activities as needed and facilitate a sense of community among the children’s families. They strengthen communication between the school and the families. Do we have any volunteers from Nursery to become a class parent?

School Website Parent area
The new parent area on our website is proving to be a great asset. In this section you have contact details for each class teacher, a copy of the timetable and access to what is being covered by each class during the week along with any homework given.
To log in you need to go to www.urspsi.org.uk/parents
You then need to enter the password (which you have received via Clarioncall) to access the class pages.
Also available on these pages is the song words and vocal tracks for Young Voices as we practise them each week. I hope this will enable pupils to learn the words more quickly and practise at home.
Please make sure that your children’s belongings are clearly labelled. There are a number of items already in lost property. The Year 6 pupils will be displaying lost property for collection each Friday morning before school. Please be advised that if there is no name and it has not been claimed, uniform items will be sent to the used uniform shop and non-uniform items will be given to the local charity shop.
It has been brought to our attention that the Stevensons website is showing garments as out of stock. They assure us that all items are available. If you are having any problems, please ring them direct on 01727815703.
PTFA Christmas Fair
The Fair will be held on Thursday December 7th from 4.00 – 7.00 pm. The aim of the Christmas Fair is to celebrate and enjoy time with the entire Ursuline family of staff, parents and students. It is also an opportunity for us to raise funds for the school and our children. We desperately need to raise funds to purchase tablets!
The children will be decorating and filling jars for a tombola stall and making Christmas decorations to brighten up the hall.
Please read the attached PTFA Newsletter detailing everything in respect of the Christmas Fair.
The minutes of the last PTFA meeting held on 2nd November are available on the school website.
Official raffle tickets will be sent home during the next couple of weeks. We would ask that each pupil buys/sells at least 2 books to the value of £10.00. A prize will be awarded to the child who sells the most tickets in both KS1 and KS2.
Please note that the afterschool club on 7th December will finish at 4.00pm to enable you to collect your child and attend the Christmas Fair.
Well done to Year 2 for no late children this week. Unfortunately there were no classes with zero absences this week. Hopefully this week we have even more classes with no absences and no lates.
Please can you inform the office if you have any new contact details (email address, phone, address, etc).
