May Crowning of Our Lady
The liturgy reps led a beautiful prayer service honouring Mary this afternoon. Timothy
our Year 6 liturgy prefect crowned Mary as the school sang hymns and prayed the fifth glorious mystery, ‘The crowning of our Lady as Queen of Heaven and Earth.’ Thank you to everyone who helped to make this event special.
The next class assembly will be Year 1 and will take place on Friday 24th May at 9:10am. As always, parents and friends are invited to attend.
World Religion Day
Monday 20th May is World Religion Day. Children should come into school in clothes depicting their faith or school uniform.
Nursery visit to Mudchute Park and Farm
What a day our Nursery children had at Mudchute farm! There were so many farm animals for them to see and learn facts about. They listened attentively to their guide, Tom and followed the rules of the farm. They were given a tour across the farm and came across rare breeds of sheep, cows, pigs, horses, donkeys, lamas, goats, chickens, ducks and big bulls. The children were very excited as it was feeding time for the animals and they looked closely at how each animal ate their food and how they called their babies using animal noises. The children had a lovely time and behaved superbly throughout the day.
Our Summer Concert was held on Friday 10th May in the Academy Hall. It showcased the talents within our school from Choir, Ballet, Irish dancing, Street dancing, Bollywood, Speech and drama and instrumentalists.
Sun hats and water bottles
As the weather improves I would like to remind you of the importance of wearing a sun hat during play time and lunch time and bringing a water bottle to school every day. The sun hat should be the school regulation hat and can be bought from the school outfitters. Water bottles, which can be refilled through the day, should be clearly marked with the child’s name. Sun cream should be applied before the children come to school.
Signing In and Out for Breakfast and After School Club
Please remember to sign your children in and out when delivering them to breakfast club and collecting them from the after school club. It is very important to write the time to ensure that staff are able to keep an accurate record of pupils present. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Can I please remind everyone that the parking bays in the front of the school are for staff only and must not be used in the morning for dropping off. This is currently causing staff lateness which impacts on your own children.
Congratulation to Year 3 who had no absences this week. Congratulation to Year 6, Year 2 and Reception who had no lates this week. Hopefully next week we will have even more classes with no absences and no lates. Please be reminded that any term time absences should be requested and authorised by the headteacher using the absence request form which can be found in the main office.
Please can you inform the office if you have any change in your contact details (email address, phone, address, etc.).
