On Thursday 18th October the whole school took part in our House relay. Pupils were split into mixed age groups and took part in a range of different relay activities collecting points for their house. A big thank you to Mr Agyemang for organising it and a thank you to staff and the sports leaders for helping on the day. The results were as follows:
1st place – St Cecilia
2nd place – St Ursula
3rd place – St Vincent
4th place – St Francis
Special mention to St Cecilia 2 who scored the highest number of points as an individual team.
Our next class assembly will be Year 6 who will hold their class assembly on Friday 9th November at 9:10am.
Half Term Holiday Club
A reminder that next week is half term. I hope that the children enjoy the week and come back fully charged for the next extremely busy half term leading up to Christmas.
St Ursula Day Mass
Today we celebrated the feast day of St Ursula with a Mass. Thank you to Father Rob and to all the parents who came to join us this morning.
Children’s Details Sheets
Every child has brought home a sheet which has information on it that you have provided in the past for our database.
Please check that all the information is still correct and please make any additions/alterations/deletions you deem necessary then sign, date and return it. Even if all is correct please sign, date and return it.
To ensure the safety of our pupils, I would like to kindly ask that you close the school gates securely after you walk through them. Do not assume that it will close behind you, you need to physically push/pull the door closed. These gates are guarded with a security code and any parent with a pupil at the school will have this code. Please do not be afraid to close the gates if you do not know the person behind you. Equally, please do not be offended if a parent closes the gate in front of you as they may not recognise you. We must all work together as a school community to keep our children safe. Thank you very much for your cooperation and help to ensure the safety of our pupils.
Please make sure that your children’s belongings are clearly labelled. There are a number of items already in lost property. The Year 6 pupils will be displaying lost property for collection each Friday morning before school. Please be advised that if there is no name and it has not been claimed, uniform items will be sent to the used uniform shop and non-uniform items will be given to the local charity shop.
The PTFA Annual General Meeting took place on October 10th. The PTFA for the 2018-2019 year was appointed and plans are underway to plan the first PTFA event, the Christmas Fair. The Fair will be held on December 13th after school.
If you have ideas about the Christmas Fair or would like to assist in planning or helping at the event, we want to hear from you. If you are able, please attend the next PTFA meeting which will be held on November 2nd at 5pm. If you are not able to attend, please email the PTFA Events Coordinator, Soniyah Khan (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The aim of the Christmas Fair is to celebrate and enjoy with the entire Ursuline family of staff, parents and students. It is also an opportunity for us to raise funds for the school and our children. We are hoping all parents will help by reaching out to people they know to find donations of any kind (eg. food, gifts) and/or sourcing businesses that may want to advertise or donate something for the Fair.
The Treasurer’s report is available on the URSPI website by following the link:-
We would like to encourage you, as an alternative to buying sweets for your child’s birthday, to purchase a board game, playground equipment or a book for our school library which will then have a name plate with your child’s name placed inside the front cover. Please choose a book that you know your own child would like.
Well done to Year 2 for no absences. Unfortunately, there were no classes with no lates this week. Hopefully after the half term week we have even more classes with no absences and no lates.
Please can you inform the office if you have any new contact details (email address, phone, address, etc).
