A very big thank you to all of the teachers who helped plan the Harvest Festival Assembly and to the parents who came to watch. Thank you to the children who generously donated non-perishable food items. The day was a massive success and we collected a great deal of food for the Redbridge Food Bank. Congratulations to Reception for bringing the most food items in and to Years 1 and 4 for creating the best designs out of their food items!
Year 1 trip to Recycling Centre
Year 1 went to the Jenkins Recycling Centre and learnt about the importance of recycling.
The children in Years 2-6 will be taking the Incas tests next week. These tests enable us to set targets for the children, adjust lesson planning to cater to their needs and track their progress.
Half Term Holiday Club
The letters and sign-up sheets for the autumn half term holiday club have now been sent out. Spare copies are available next to the trophy cabinet in the main hall outside the prep office. If you would like your child to attend the holiday club, please complete and return the form to the office by Friday 12th October. It is important for us to attain the number of children who will be attending to appropriately staff the club.
To ensure the safety of our pupils, I would like to kindly ask that you close the school gates securely after you walk through them. Do not assume that it will close behind you, you need to physically push/pull the door closed. These gates are guarded with a security code and any parent with a pupil at the school will have this code. Please do not be afraid to close the gates if you do not know the person behind you. Equally, please do not be offended if a parent closes the gate in front of you as they may not recognise you. We must all work together as a school community to keep our children safe. Thank you very much for your cooperation and help to ensure the safety of our pupils.
This year we are continuing to introduce the role of class parent to help improve communication between home and school and also to increase parent involvement. Class parents are the coordinators of support for your child’s class. They help organise support for teachers and class room activities as needed and facilitate a sense of community among the children’s families. They strengthen communication between the school and the families.
Below is a list of class parents to date:-
|Nursery||Hardeep Kahlon (Amber)||email@example.com|
|Reception class||Bola Boboye (Samantha)

Prize Day Trophies
Congratulations to all the children who won their class cup at prize day. A reminder to please have your child’s name engraved and return the cup to the school office as soon as possible. These will then be displayed in our trophy cabinet outside the main office. We currently only have 3 cups returned. Thank you to those who have already returned them.
Please make sure that your children’s belongings are clearly labelled. There are a number of items already in lost property. The Year 6 pupils will be displaying lost property for collection each Friday morning before school. Please be advised that if there is no name and it has not been claimed, uniform items will be sent to the used uniform shop and non-uniform items will be given to the local charity shop.
Our school Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) will hold its annual general meeting at 5pm on Wednesday 10th October in the Year 5 classroom in order to elect a new team. I urge you to consider attending this, as the group plans a number of very successful and enjoyable events through the year such as Christmas Fair and Summer Fair and BBQ and help and ideas are always welcome. New parents will be especially welcome at the meeting. Hopefully all class parents will be present.
Please can you inform the office if you have any new contact details (email address, phone, address, etc).
