Final half term
Welcome back to the final half term of this academic school year. I trust that all had a restful and relaxing break. This half term is filled with many exciting events and activities and I hope that all pupils will put forth their best efforts to finish off this year in a positive way!
The next and last class assembly of the year will be Reception and will take place on Friday 16th June at 9:10am. As always, parents and friends are invited to attend.
The Smarties Challenge is finishing this week! Please return your tube to Mrs McNaughton this week no matter how full it is! The class returning the highest percentage of tubes will have a picnic in Valentines Park – it would be wonderful if this was able to be a whole school picnic.
Currently in the lead are Year 2!
The money raised will go to the PTFA to boost the profits from the summer fair. Our aim this year is to raise funds for computer tablets for the class rooms. This is a large project but with your help and everyone getting involved I am sure that we can succeed.
Please find the full uniform list attached. Many children are not in full school uniform and I would ask parents to ensure that the list is read and adhered to. Summer dresses should be worn with white socks, with no leggings or long sleeved tops underneath. Thank you for your co-operation.
Plans are underway for the 2017 summer fair! The date of the summer fair is Friday 30th June and tickets will be on sale following the half term break. Any sponsorship from your companies or donations for the raffle would be grateful appreciated. Your class parents will be contacting you within the next few weeks to organise support. This week is bottle week when we ask for donations of any full unopened bottles from ketchup to champagne for our ‘bottle stall’.
We are planning on running another parent v pupil match of rounders to close the evening. If you are interested in volunteering or playing in the match, please send an email to email@example.com.
Sports Day 2017
Our annual Sports Day for children in Reception to Year 6 will take place at Cricklefields Athletics track, on Friday 23rd June. Parents are welcome to join us for this event and more information will follow. We look forward to seeing you there!
After School Activity Clubs
As Miss Sethi and Mr Tuitt will be accompanying Year 6 to PGL next week, their after school clubs will be cancelled for the week:-
Drawing & Sketching – Tuesday
Table Tennis – Tuesday
Multi Skills – Thursday
Striking & Fielding (Athletics) – Friday
Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers
The school is still collecting these vouchers. Please put them in the box outside the main school office.
To ensure the safety of our pupils, I would like to kindly ask that you close the school gates securely after you walk through them. These gates are guarded with a security code and any parent with a pupil at the school will have this code. Please do not be afraid to close the gates if you do not know the person behind you. Equally, please do not be offended if a parent closes the gate in front of you as they may not recognise you. We must all work together as a school community to keep our children safe. Thank you very much for your cooperation and help to ensure the safety of our pupils.
A reminder that the school is a ‘No Phone Zone’ and that mobile phones should not be used on the school premises.
Signing Out After School Club
Please remember to sign your children out when collecting them from the after school club. It is very important to write the time that you have collected your child so that the after school club staff are able to keep an accurate record of pupils present. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Congratulations to Year 1 and Reception for no absences the week before half term. Congratulations to Year 3 and Year 5 for no lates. I hope that next week there are more classes with excellent punctuality and attendance.
Please can you inform the office if you have any change in your contact details (email address, phone, address, etc.).
