This week has been Enterprise Week. The Year 6s have learnt about how to look after money and explore aspects of financial wellbeing. They took part in a house challenge to make the most profit possible creating a consumable and non-consumable product to sell. We also welcomed a number of parent visitors who came to talk about their chosen careers and the skills required.
The next class assembly will be Year 5 and will take place on Friday 29th February at 9:10am in the hall. Year 5 parents and friends are invited to attend.
Year 5 trip to the Unicorn Theatre
Year 5 visited the Unicorn Theatre last Friday and had a fantastic time. They watched a modern retelling of the Greek myth “Icarus” and we even managed to get front row seats! The children all were fascinated by their surroundings and it was lovely to see such animated faces. On the way back, they enjoyed a lunch by the river, including an ice lolly- Storm Eric couldn’t stop us from having the most memorable of days.
World Book Day
The Scholastic Book Fair will also be in school from 7th March to link in with World Book Day. Parents have the opportunity to use this link: https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/ to purchase a voucher for their child to use at the Book Fair. This means they get an extra 20%. So a £12 voucher costs £10 and a £6 voucher costs £5. Their child can just present this to an adult at the Book Fair to take advantage of the extra 20% which is applicable on any item – not just books. They will not get any change – they must use the voucher!
Bee an Artist
This term our rainbow on the stairs is to be transformed with pupils’ artwork. Any child can produce a piece of artwork for display using any medium they like. It must be no larger than A4. Once completed hand to their teacher and it will be displayed along the stairs.
On Thursday 28th February from 9-12 it is our open morning for prospective pupils. If you know anyone who would be interested in sending their child to our school please let them know. Appointments are not necessary.
Congratulations to Year 5 who had no absences this week. Congratulations to Year 3 who had no lates. The whole school attendance figure stands at 96% for the half term.
Please can you inform the office if you have any change in your contact details (email address, phone, address, etc.)
