End of Term
As we reach the end of the Lent term I would like to wish you all a very happy Easter and a wonderful break. We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 23rd April in your Summer uniform.
Easter Holiday Club
Holiday club will run from Monday 8th April to Wednesday 17th April. The first week it will be held in the Prep School and the second three days it will be held in the Academy dining hall. Work is being undertaken over the holidays so we request that parents do not park in the Staff parking bays as they will be needed for work vehicles.
The KS1 and KS2 Easter Service took place on Tuesday 2nd April in Saint Peter and Paul’s Church, Ilford. At this Service, we reflected on the time of Lent and continued our preparations for Easter. Thank you to those parents who were able to join us for this very special occasion.
Stevenson’s, our school outfitters, will be in school on Wednesday 10th April (during holidays) from 2pm until 4pm in the Prep Hall. As the children return to school from the Easter break in summer uniform, this will give you the opportunity to purchase what is needed and try out different sizes. Please also remember that Boaters and Boys Caps are a compulsory part of the uniform.
Year 1’s Pirate lunchboxes.
In design and technology the children in Year 1 had to design and then create a pirate lunch box with a range of different materials. The children had to make sure that their pirate lunch boxes were water proof and had a strong handle. They then had to evaluate their end product and work out what they would do differently next time.
On Friday 26th April we will have our annual PSHE Day where we will focus on one of our British Values, The Rule of Law. The day will be packed with a variety of activities for each year group centered on this value. The children are asked to come to school on that day in non-uniform. However, they will need to be dressed in the theme of law. The following are suggestions- police officer, judge, lawyer, sheriff, forensic scientist, historical or fictional characters such as Robert Peel, Sherlock Holmes, TV characters from law and order shows, to name a few. The children will need to explain who their character is and how they contribute to the Rule of Law. By the end of the day the children will have learnt age appropriate facts about the law through enjoyable activities.
Ice Lolly Fridays
Our ice lolly Fridays will commence on 26th April for a ten-week period. Forms have been sent home with your children and ice lollies will be £6 for the term. Please ensure that these are sent back in time to avoid disappointment.
