As we reach the end of the Lent term I would like to wish you all a very happy Easter and a wonderful break. We look forward to seeing you all on Monday 16th April in your Summer uniform.
Easter Holiday Club
Holiday club will run from Tuesday 3rd April until Friday 13th April. Work is being undertaken in St Angela’s over the holidays so we request that parents do not park in the Staff parking bays as they will be needed for work vehicles. School reopens on Monday 16th April.
Miss Halton leaves the school today on maternity leave to begin her journey into motherhood. On behalf of the school I want to wish her the all the best in this exciting new adventure. Ms Lorraine Ebanks will be the Year 3 class teacher until she returns next year.
The next class assembly will be in the Trinity Term with Year 2 and will take place on Friday 4th May at 9:10am in the hall. Year 2 parents and friends are invited to attend.
On Tuesday 20th March Year 5 attended a retreat at the new Walsingham House at Abbotswick. The theme of the day was the ‘Parable of Talents’, enabling the children to think about their own talents and achievements. The children enjoyed their day celebrating with a prayer service to show what they had learnt through the day.
House Tug of War
On Thursday 22nd March Reception – Year 6 took part in the annual House Tug of War in Valentine’s Park. The teams all competed against one another to collect points for their house. Three points were awarded for a win with one point awarded for a loss.
The winning teams were St Ursula 1 for Years 1-3 and St Ursula Team 4 for Years 4-6. The total point scores were then calculated and house points awarded as follows:
St Ursula 100
St Cecilia 75
St Vincent de Paul 50
St Francis 25
Thank you to all of the parents who came along to support the event and to those who took part in the parent event.
The KS1 and KS2 Easter Service took place on Tuesday 27th March in Saint Peter and Paul’s Church, Ilford. At this Service, we reflected on the time of Lent and continued our preparations for Easter. Thank you to those parents who were able to join us for this very special occasion.
What a wonderful day the Nursery children enjoyed at the Natural History Museum on Friday 23rd March! Dinosaurs were firmly on their minds as they entered the museum excitedly. They were not disappointed as they encountered the huge skeletons of T-Rex, Stegosaurus’ and Triceratops to name but a few. The day was a great success and the children especially enjoyed the interactive aspects of the visit. They were allowed to touch fossils and complete some rubbings and anything they did not know about dinosaurs was introduced to their inquisitive minds. We would like to say a huge thank you to all those parents who attended and we cannot wait for our next exciting day out.
Stevenson’s, our school outfitters, will be in school on Thursday 5th April (during holidays) from 3pm until 5pm in the Prep Hall. As the children return to school from the Easter break in summer uniform, this will give you the opportunity to purchase what is needed and try out different sizes.
Signing Out After School Club
Please remember to sign your children out when collecting them from the after school club. It is very important to write the time that you have collected your child so that the after school club staff are able to keep an accurate record of pupils present. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Thank you to all who have purchased Easter Raffle tickets – the money will be going to the PTFA.
We held our annual Easter Bonnet/Hat parade during assembly today. Thank you to all of the children who took part.
